Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner haven’t been all that active on social media lately after news came out about them having their first child together. The news was made even bigger when the couple revealed that they had had a girl they named “Willa”.
The 30-year-old singer has posted a few updates unrelated to the birth of their child, but it was revealed by insiders that they are keeping things on the down-low for privacy reasons.
The picture they shared on a (now expired) Instagram story has already made headlines.
Joe can be seen in the pic wearing a white shirt while showing off what appears to be a full beard and short-cut hairstyle. The 24-year-old blonde bombshell and now mother can be seen wearing a matching outfit and her hair back.
The two posted the picture with a “vogue” filter telling people to continue wearing a mask.
While Joe doesn’t usually get as personal in his interviews, Sophie is quite the social butterfly and prefers to be transparent when she talks about her family and personal life.
When asked about some of her darker memories, Turner shockingly began discussing how she would often think about suicide and depression.
“It’s weird. I say I wasn’t very depressed when I was younger, but I used to think about suicide a lot when I was younger. I don’t know why though,” she said. “Maybe it’s just a weird fascination I used to have, but yeah, I used to think about it. I don’t think I ever would have gone through with it. I don’t know.”
Sophie felt very depressed over the criticisms about her weight or about what she wore. It made her feel like she couldn’t be loved or that she couldn’t love herself.
“I just would cry and cry and cry over just getting changed and putting on clothes and be like, ‘I can’t do this. I can’t go outside. I have nothing that I want to do.”
Although it looked bleak, she started going to therapy and her parents came alongside her to help her feel better.
Because of the support she received and the love she now gets from her husband Joe, Sophie told the press how she’s learned to love herself and have self-confidence.
“I [sometimes] don’t think I love myself at all, but I’m now with someone that makes me realize I do have some redeeming qualities, I suppose,” she said. “And when someone tells you they love you every day, it makes you really think about why that is and I think that makes you love yourself a bit more. So yeah, I love myself.”
