The song, which many regarded as a significant movement for African-American female rappers, given that it charted #1 almost immediately after release, has received some harsh criticisms for its music video, which features a surprise appearance from 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star Kylie Jenner, who does not contribute musically but has a solid few seconds of screen time. Since her appearance, many fans have spoken out saying that her presence takes away from the song and many have even signed a petition to remove her from the video entirely.

As of Monday, the change.org petition to remove Jenner has garnered over 65,000 signatures, accompanied by the description, "The video was perfect until we saw K and I wanted to throw my phone."

Many users also took to Twitter to air their grievances about the star, with one claiming that Jenner being involved detracts from Cardi and Megan's important presence on the song, saying that Normani should have received the guest spot over the makeup mogul in the hot new video.

"Normani did ALL this and Kylie walked down the hall and opened a door. If that’s not a perfect visual indication of Black women having to do the most and white women do the bare minimum to get somewhere, I don’t know what is," one user wrote to Twitter, which caught the attention of Cardi, who quickly responded to the fan with her take on Jenner being included in the video, which she explains is due to close familial ties.

"Why did I put Kylie on my music video? She treated my sister [Hennessy Carolina] and daughter [Kulture] so lovely at her kid [Stormi Webster‘s] bday party. Travis [Scott] and [Off]Set are real close. Kris Jenner have giving me advice on certain things I ask for her husband real cool with min," Cardi quoted the original tweet and responded, citing the pair's close ties and seemingly silencing those who have been saying that Jenner did not deserve to be in the video to begin with.
