Simon Cowell is fresh out of luck. The 60-year-old reality mogul and "America's Got Talent" judge was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after trialing his new electric bicycle went very wrong. The Brit now has a broken back and is due for surgery.

The accident happened while Cowell was taking his electric bike for a test drive at his Malibu, California home. The Brit's rep confirmed yesterday: "Simon has broken his back and will be having surgery this evening." Apparently, the news was enough to see Simon entering Twitter trends.

If you're in the U.S. and happened to check Twitter trends early on Sunday morning, you'll have seen "The X Factor" founder's name. The man behind One Direction was creeping up the social media platform's trends, with fans largely wishing him well – some, however, couldn't resist a few memes.

The man known for being the "bad guy" on reality shows had his mean streak mentioned:

"We really said "simon cowell deserves an electric chair" and now he's in the hospital because he had an accident in an electric bike," one user tweeted.

Users were jumping in. "Just saw simon cowell managed to BREAK HIS BACK by falling off a bike?? like?? wtf was he jumping ramps and sh-t?" one added.

The injury now makes it unclear whether Simon will be able to attend filming for either "America's Got Talent" or "Britain's Got Talent." The former is due to air as a live show on August 11. That said, schedules have already been tricky for the man who has fingers in many pies. There's an overlap.

Delays due to coronavirus now mean that production for "America's Got Talent" and "Britain's Got Talent" are happening simultaneously. Simon is reportedly bummed-out, with a source reporting to The Sun stating:

"Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi- finals, but he'll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show."

"Normally, schedules mean Simon can do both but AGT's dates haven't moved while BGT's have due to coronavirus," they added. Fans are likely wishing Simon all the best and a speedy recovery.
