Jury deliberations have now begun in the trial surrounding Jussie Smollett.

Smollett was accused of staging the hate crime he reported to police in January 2019.

Smollett testified in his own defense on Monday and Tuesday.

Things got testy between Smollett and prosecutor Dan Webb.

At times, Smollett refused to answer the prosecutor’s questions.

He kept insisting that he did not stage a hate crime.

However, Webb found inconsistencies some of his statements.

On Wednesday afternoon, closing arguments lasted over five hours.

The case is now in the hands of the jury.
