On the most recent episode of "Real Housewives of New York," the amount of alcohol the cast members consume became a hot topic of discussion and debate. At the center of it was Dorinda Medley, who Ramona Singer accused of drinking too much and needing to go to Alcoholics Anonymous.

After the episode aired, Luann de Lesseps was a guest on "What What Happens Live" and talked to Andy Cohen about Medley's drinking.

“You came to a truce tonight, promising to never bring up one another drinking again, how long can we expect this to last?” Cohen asked.

“Well, you know, it’s a problem because every time you bring up the drinking she gets angry, and it’s very hard to talk to Dorinda about the drinking," she responded. "I personally don’t want to label myself, I’ve been in a good place and I want to stay in a good place, and my life is not about drinking, it’s about so much more with everything that I’m doing.”

Cohen also asked de Lesseps about Medley bringing up her past run-ins with the law, and if she says those things because she knows it'll cut de Lesseps deep.

“You know, I don’t think it’s about cutting deep, I think it just says a lot about her that she has to make someone feel bad about themselves and shame them in order to make herself feel better. I don’t think it’s about me, I think it’s really more about her," she replied.

During the episode, Singer and de Lesseps were having a meal together and Singer said, "You know what, Lu, I’m drinking water because of some of the girls in our group. I don’t want to end up like some of these other girls that we’re around, not mentioning names.”

De Lesseps then brought up Singer telling Medley she need to go to AA. "I think she should go to AA. She drinks way too much," Singer responded.

In her confessional, Singer continued talking about Medley's drinking “I don’t know if Dorinda needs to go to AA or not, but just stop name-calling and saying Sonja has a problem when obviously you have a bit of a problem yourself," she said.

Cohen said that the amount of drinking the women have been doing on this season will be addressed in the reunion, which was filmed in-person earlier this week. Several cast members have been very open about their struggles with alcohal, especially Leah McSweeney who revealed that she has stayed sober during the coronavirus pandemic.
