Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the cast of "Real Housewives of New York" was able to gather in-person to record the Season 12 reunion special earlier this week. Leah McSweeney talked to "E! News" about how thrilled she was to be able to have her first reunion show in-person instead of being filmed remotely, although she admitted to be nervous and unable to sleep the night before.

“The wake-up call was very early. I’m not the best sleeper. I was nervous and I kept stressing out about not being able to sleep and of course I only slept from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. So I did the reunion on three hours of sleep,” McSweeny said, “My makeup and hair girls got there at 5:30 a.m., I’d been up since 1:30 a.m. But the adrenaline was running. I obviously talked to Martin, my trainer, talked to my mom, talked to [ex-husband] Rob. Martin was the one specifically, he’s just like, ‘Go out there and be you.’ That’s it.”

McSweeney was at the reunion along with Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps and Tinsley Mortimer, who flew in from Chicago and quarantined before attending the filming. And of course, "Watch What Happens" host and "Housewives" executive producer Andy Cohen was there.

She went on to say how grateful she was to the network for taking all the necessary precautions to have a safe reunion.

“I’m just so grateful that Bravo and that Shed [Media], all the amazing crew and staff and Andy and everyone, every single person that was involved in getting it to be in person,” McSweeney said.

“When I tell you they were so careful and the amount of testing and protocols and masks and social distancing and this and that. It was a huge undertaking and they did it.”

Cohen, who tested positive for COVID-19 in April, posted a selfie with de Lesseps after they taped the show.

"That’s a WRAP! Thanks to our incredible crew who helped us execute this reunion safely. And thanks to Lu for wearing a mask of her own lips!" he wrote in the caption.

Cohen also posted about the big event beforehand on Instagram, writing, "About to shoot our IN PERSON RHONY Reunion!!" he said alongside a selfie. "Putting on a suit and tie never felt so good ... Gonna be a great day!"

He said that everyone was wearing masks and all coronavirus safety protocols were followed during the filming.
