Denise Richards' husband Aaron Phypers is not currently on the good side of many of the women of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast. During an episode of the current season which aired in early June, Phypers raised eyebrows with his behavior during a cookout at Kyle Richards' house.

Denise got into an argument with Teddi Mellencamp and a couple of the other cast members, and decided it was time for her and Phypers to leave.

He was clearly angry that the women had upset his wife, and had some words for them. While Richards and Phypers were exiting the house, she repeatedly told him not to say anything more because the cameras were on.

"Don't tell me what to say," he snapped at Richards. “I’m going to crush your fucking hand. Stop it.”

When the episode aired, Mellencamp tweeted the clip of him doing that and wrote, "When I called him an asshole I wasn’t too far off #RHOBH.”

In a new interview on "New York Live," cast member Dorit Kemsley shared her thoughts about Phypers and that incident.

“I think he’s a great guy. I’ve never had an issue with him. [But] I’ve personally learned that it’s not a good idea for husbands to jump in and stand up for their wives," she said.

"I understand the instinct of a husband that’s very supportive and protective of their wife. They want to come in and speak for them but we’re all strong, independent women. We can all handle ourselves.”

Kemsley went on to explain that speaking to the women the way in which he did doesn't help anything.

"It doesn’t bode well when you have a guy that’s speaking to a group of women in a certain way,” Kemsley said, “It doesn’t look good. It doesn’t feel good and ultimately, it’s not going to serve them well. So I think he made some mistakes. But sometimes we have to watch it ourselves to really self-reflect and understand the mistakes that we’ve made.”

Richards has been the center of the "RHOBH" drama this season, especially since the bombshell allegation from Brandi Glanville that she and Denise had a one night stand last year. Richards has strongly denied that the two hooked up, but Glanville stands by it.

“I’m not lying,” she said to Us Weekly. “People can say whatever they want to say. Listen, it doesn’t matter because I know my truth and the truth is setting me free right now because I don’t have to keep this fucking secret anymore."
