However, a source revealed at the time the two were not dating.

In November 2017, McPhee opened up about her relationship with Foster to People.

“It’s great that they want to do that. I think it’s so amusing that people are amused by my love life. Here’s how I look at it: I’m not doing anything wrong, so whether people think it’s true or false … there’s nothing bad happening in my life, so people can just say whatever they want,” she said.

It wasn’t until May 2018, the couple confirmed their romance while attending the Met Gala together.

In July of that year, Foster proposed to the “Over It” singer. McPhee announced her engagement on Instagram with the caption:

“It’s been a hard week. Lots of tears but I want to thank my friends and family for all the love and support. My dad was so happy for me. My ring was the last thing I showed my dad before he passed and makes me smile when I look at this as a reminder of our last conversation," she began.

McPhee continued, "And now I’m ready to share with all of you what has been my sunshine amongst this painful loss. My love wisely said to me the other day that “death is the only thing that is 100 percent inevitable and the thing we are least prepared for. So today we’re celebrating life and not forgetting love. ❤️"

The couple walked down the aisle in 2019 in London.

According to Us Weekly, Foster's daughters “fully expect [McPhee] to have a child and fully support it.”
