Sadly, those dreams are down the drain as the "Vanderpump Rules" stars recently released a joint statement via their Instagram. They also turned off the comments on the post to prevent fans and followers from airing their views on the split.
At the time of the news, there were no details about how long the pair battled issues in their relationship. Read on to know fans' reactions and many more details surrounding their split.
Fan's Have Mixed Reactions
Kennedy and Leviss' decision to end the engagement came as a shock to many. Candidly, the pair gave no hint that there was trouble in paradise and seemed to be in a good place throughout.
Although fans could not comment on the joint statement they released, they aired their views when the reality series confirmed the split between the stars on their Instagram feed.
"James and Lala back together in 2022, I predict it now," a follower mentioned.
"She's way too good for him," a fan replied.
"Smart girl! Her career will flourish!" another Instagram user added.
"Yay for her. Know she has a hard time speaking up for herself. He is not it though. She wants kids. Without some serious intervention, he would make a horrible life partner and father," one more follower replied.
"We knew this wasn't going to last when he told her she couldn't wear her engagement ring to work," a follower commented.
With fans' opinions clearly divided about the split, it is safe to assume that the duo will remain in the news for a while.
The Joint Statement
Just like former lovebirds Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello decided to announce their breakup in a joint statement, Kennedy and Leviss released a one for all post to inform the public that they have ended their relationship.

The news, which contained a selfie of the duo, read, "After these five wonderful years we had together, we decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement."
"We love each other very much, but we aren't in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other, so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending Love."
The two have not revealed any further details regarding their split. Also, the statement gave no hint about who now has custody of their dog Graham Cracker or if there will be any more parties in his honor.
Why Did James Kennedy & Raquel Leviss Call Off Engagement?
A huge highlight of the "Vanderpump Rules" Season nine was the marriage proposal between Kennedy and Leviss. With some assistance from his colleague Tom Sandoval, the DJ elaborately engaged her.
The beautiful affair had a Coachella-themed approach that wowed fans. Ultimately, Kennedy got down on one knee against a backdrop of much razzmatazz. Leviss, for her part, disclosed the proposal news while partying in Palm Springs with her then-fiancé and their colleagues.

"James proposed at the iconic Empire Polo Fields of "RACHELLA" Friday night, and I said YES! I'm over the Coachella moon #RACHELLA," she posted at the time.
With everything seemingly set for a future marriage, the couple dropped the breakup bombshell barely a few months after the engagement ceremony. They gave no reasons for their decision and only indicated they had fallen out of love. Fans will have to wait and see if a future reconciliation might happen.
Leviss Has Moved Out Of The Apartment
Leviss joined the reality series in season five as Kennedy's new girlfriend. Since then, fans saw their relationship blossom, onset and offset, leading to their decision to move in together in 2018.
According to Bravo's The Daily Dish, Kennedy disclosed how they shared the apartment. "She's got half the f****** closet in the other room. She's granted much more room," he said.
The pair later raved about their abode, and Kennedy disclosed Leviss' mother did a ton of work, decorating the place. All the efforts put into making the apartment suitable for them are now in vain as Leviss moved out only hours after her split.
She posted videos at a storage unit with her father, and they came along with a packed U-Haul truck. She also shared a clip of the moment they opened the place. "As my dad says, my new home," she joked on the video.
