Singer Britney Spears just became the Social Star of 2021!

On Tuesday, December 7, Britney Spears was selected as the recipient for the Social Star of 2021 at the People's Choice Awards.

Britney faced some stiff competition from AddisonRae, CharliD'Amelio, DwayneJohnson, JustinBieber, Kim Kardashian West, KylieJenner, and Lil Nas X.

2021 marks an important year for Britney. She was finally freed for her 13-year conservatorship and has regained the ability to assert agency over her own life.

Britney has been celebrating her newfound freedom with her fiancé, Sam Asghari, by taking an international vacation in Cabo San Lucas for her 40th birthday on December 2.

Britney put on her sexy snake top in order to perform a dance for her Instagram followers because she "wanted to feel graceful."

In the post, she talks about how she fasts because she likes the "clarity" that it provides her.

Britney was feeling fashionable on her birthday! On the night of December 2, she posted a few snaps of different dresses from her collection, including a red dress with a plunging neckline and a bright neon yellow dress that would light up any room!

It seems Britney may be thinking about getting into fashion, as she let her followers know that "More classic fashion dresses coming soon to my Instagram … by me … worn by me."

Britney loves the Christmas season, and it's evident in the several Instagram snaps she devoted to showing off her seasonal holiday decor and beautiful Christmas tree.

"Ok so I thought a view of my tree actually beside it would be more appropriate than a nose dive view off my balcony," she wrote. "… oh well … I get silly this time of year … hot cocoa please !!!!!! God bless !!!!"

"Jungle Cruise" actor Dwayne Johnson also won big at the People's Choice Awards last night!

He won awards for Best Male Actor and Comedy Star, beating out his "Red Notice" co-star Ryan Reynolds in both categories.

Although The Rock didn't beat Britney to win Social Star of 2021, he was awarded the People's Champion Award for his “contributions to the entertainment industry, entrepreneurial endeavors, and unwavering commitment to supporting children and families in need through multiple philanthropic partnerships.”

Johnson then stunned audiences when the coveted award away to a young Make-A-Wish recipient named Shushana.

“I met her earlier. I told her how inspired I was by her story,” Johnson told an emotional audience. “She is a survivor. She has fought literally for her life. She has inspired her family, her friends, now you guys here, now the world that is watching.”

Johnson said that Shushana represents “everything that means to be a people’s champion” and quoted the late Muhammad Ali, saying, “Service to others is the rent you pay for the room you have here on earth.”
