Joe Giudice was supposed to be reunited with the four daughters he shares with estranged wife Teresa Giudice this summer, but sadly, the longtime "Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast member's plans have been derailed.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Joe spoke to Celeb magazine about the cancellation of his daughters' trip and denied recent reports suggesting that it was actually Teresa who was keeping his kids from him.

“In the end, while we all hurt, I’m the one truly missing out,” Joe shared on August 3.

“I miss seeing their beautiful faces,” Joe continued. “I have so much to show them in Italy. This summer was supposed to be us taking on Italy!”

Teresa and Joe were married for 20 years when they announced their separation last year and share four daughters, including Gia, Gabriella, Audriana, and Milania.

“I’m very sorry I can’t experience the privilege of taking that journey with them, though under circumstances we all must do our part," Joe continued in his statement to the magazine.

Although Joe certainly wants to see his kids as soon as possible, he and Teresa know that they have to do what is right from a safety standpoint as the world continues to be faced with an ongoing spread of COVID-19.

"We do realize this as a family and it surely breaks our hearts not to see each other in person. We speak and FaceTime every day at end safety is Teresa and my first priority as we co-parent,” Joe explained.

After renovating the former home of Teresa's late father, Joe was hoping to take his children to visit once they arrived in his native country.

“I was very thrilled to come [to the] new place in Salerno just [a] couple [of] days ago. I really wanted my girls to see the progress I made on [their[ grandfather’s house. This means a lot to me,” he shared.

“I wanted to really appreciate and explore this place with my girls,” Joe added of their grandfather's former home.

Although there have been claims suggesting the girls won't travel to Italy due to Teresa's personal wishes, Joe made it clear that the issue is not in her hands.

“Teresa can’t open borders,” Joe laughed. “[And] the borders are closed due to corona.”

The upcoming 11th season of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" is currently in production after previously being shut down in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Although a premiere date for the new episodes has not yet been confirmed by Bravo, the ladies will likely return to television at some point early next year.
