"I said to get one of these NBA jerseys, it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be a lot of hate, it's gonna be a lot of people not believing in you but you know J. Cole -- he got the right size, he in the gym!"

"But, what I told him ... this a different time we're in. They're going to pick you apart! You're gonna have to be able to hit every shot and if you don't hit every shot, they -- you know in the NBA, they don't hit every shot but they believe in them. So, you're gonna have to go somewhere where the team really believe in you and the players believe in you."

The Detroit Pistons are offering J. Cole a tryout to make their team.

On late Monday night, the NBA's Detroit Pistons decided to give Cole a shot as they took to Twitter to send out their invite. They said that all he needs to do is contact them as they revealed that there are a limited amount of roster sports on the team.

".@JColeNC we see you out here. You said they only got 12 slots on the Pistons. Hit us up for that tryout. This is for all the dreamers @bleacherreport #Dreamville"

Fans have since been interested in wanting to see Cole on an NBA roster. He has basketball experience as he could've played basketball at St. John's University in Queens, NY after trying out but ended up passing on that move to focus on music. Master P showed that rappers could definitely make the NBA, even on preseason rosters, as well. In the 1998 preseason, he briefly played for the Charlotte Hornets and in the 1998 preseason, he appeared on the Toronto Raptors' roster.

Other rappers have since decided to speak on their former playing careers as a few nights ago, New York rapper Dave East posted throwback highlights of him at Towson University. Getting into trouble ended up being in his tracks and that resorted to him deciding to rap, which has gone very well for him over the last five years.

One definitely has to wonder if Cole's hometown Charlotte Hornets will offer him a tryout. In 2019, he performed at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game at their Spectrum Center.
