Kim Kardashian West is reportedly "protecting her kids" more than ever as the current drama between her and husband Kanye West unfolds very publicly.

Following her return to Los Angeles after an emotional meeting with West at the family's ranch in Cody Wyoming, where reports showed her crying during an intense conversation with the 'Follow God' rapper, it apperas that Kardashian is now completely prioritizing the safety and stability of her children no matter how the situation between her and West turns out.

"Kim is just taking everything in her life day by day now. Her priority is protecting her kids. This is hard on her," the source told 'HollywoodLife' about the current state of Kardashian and West's relationship and how she is exacting any means neccesary to insulate the couple's four children from the fallout of their public spats, many of which have been largely propagated through social media posts.

The reality star is taking things "day by day" and hoping to maintain some sense of normalcy for her and the children while they're in Los Angeles.

"She reaches out to Kanye daily. He’s surrounding himself by friends and she’s surrounded by a small circle of friends and her family. She’d go to Wyoming if he asked her to. He was ignoring a lot of her calls and texts and told her to stay in LA," the source added about the current dynamic between one of the world's most famous couples.

This most recent revelation comes only a week after West took to Twitter to issue a public apology to Kardashian for using the public forum to discuss private aspects of their life.

"I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter," West wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday, July 25. "I did not cover her like she has covered me. To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me," he went on to mention, adding, "thank you for always being there for me."

Kardsashian took to her Instagram story to issue her own statement regarding West's mental health, but did not mention any of the marital issues her husband tweeted about, including West's accusation of infidelity on her part.

West has been the central focus of many critics over the last few weeks. The rapper undertook a controversial and largely unbolstered run for President of the United States, publicly blasted the likes of Shia LeBoeuf, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Larsa Pippen, and Drake through various tweets, and seemingly sharing and once again delaying a forthcoming album titled 'Donda: With Child' named after his late mother Donda West. Only time will tell how and if the Kardashian-Wests are able to mend the clear wounds the last few weeks has endured their relationship.
