Draya Michele might have been deemed irresponsible following her Megan Thee Stallion shooting joke, but the 35-year-old reality star has been showing responsibility in other aspects of her life. When it came to Draya’s Friday Instagram stories, that meant throwing literal shade – by staying out of the sun.
Draya is fresh from seemingly having had her joke about “Savage” rapper Meg cost her dearly. The “Basketball Wives LA” alum appears dropped from her ambassador role with Rihanna’s SavagexFenty underwear line. The star’s own, 2011-founded Mint Swim brand is anything but dead, though.
Scroll for how the drama unfolded. Over a week after Draya spoke on the “Weed and Wine” podcast, the star is keeping up her Instagram activity with no mention of SavagexFenty having unfollowed her – and, it would appear, the label having deleted all promo photos of Draya from its official Instagram.
Draya’s Friday stories matched her permanent post. The Fashion Nova partner was sunbathing in a sizzling tan bikini poolside, with the stories taking on a video format as Draya crunched her way through a watermelon-colored popsicle while in the shade.
Draya filmed herself poolside. She then appeared indoors and in chic piped pajamas while talking light.
“I legit used to sit out in the sun ALL.DAY,” she began, then adding that umbrellas are now her jam. “I don’t want nothing to do with that sun anymore. I’m growing up,” she continued.
Draya appeared forced to do some major growing up as the storm over 25-year-old Meg exploded. The Texas-born rapper claims she was shot in both feet, with fans continuing to wonder if Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, arrested on gun charges, was behind it.

Draya had said: “I predict that they had some sort of Bobby & Whitney love that drove them down this type of road,” adding: “I’m here for it. I like that. I want you to like me so much you shoot me in the foot too.”
It took a matter of hours for Draya to wind up trending on Twitter. Likely because Hot Girl Meg had fired back with a response saying: “Dumb b-tch that sh-t ain’t f-cking funny who tf jokes about getting shot by a n—-.”
Draya did apologize to Meg. She stated having no intentions to “glorify domestic violence,” adding: “I was trying to say just love me deeply. But while trying to be funny, I offended many, including meg. And I’m sorry.”
Draya has since been mass trolled over seemingly losing her lucrative SavagxFenty endorsement. “We don’t forget sis,” fans wrote on her Instagram.
The end of the week also brought Draya delivering a touch of vulnerability, though. She wrote about being “just a mom who’s doing my best.” Likewise, that she was “giving my kids my all,” calling her two sons “the greatest things to ever happen to me.”
