Cole Sprouse, 27, just returned to Instagram after taking a month away from social media.

The “Riverdale” actor discussed the reason for his absence and urged his 32.6 million followers to take breaks as well.

“Know I’ve been off of social media for a while. Decided to take a much needed mental health break,” Sprouse began. “I’ve never been the most active user of social media, but even the minor amount I had been engaging during quarantine had become a bit too taxing.”

Sprouse continued, “Work is slowly beginning to pick back up within a new normal. And as someone who has only ever really known work their entire life, I found that I’m best on a schedule. Knowing when to step away like I did in college, and when to re-engage is a fundamental skill for any young performer.”

The “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” star then told his fans to take time away from social media when necessary.

“Take your breaks,” he encouraged his fans. “Mental and physical health always come first.”

“In time we’ll all be able to see more clearly what this pandemic actually is- a massive global trauma. The effects of which have, in no small way, been encouraged tremendously by the failings of the US,” Sprouse explained.

He added, “We’re in the midst of a huge election, and I encourage everyone here in the United States to deeply consider our “modern” medical health care system. I’ll be more active soon my sweet little babies~.”

The 27-year-old, like many Hollywood stars, has been vocal about his experience with anxiety.

In 2018, he discussed his mental health with Us Weekly saying, “I had some pretty bad social anxiety when I was little just because I was raised in celebrity culture, and feeling watched all the time.”

Sprouse continued, “And at least for me — and I can only really speak from personal experiences — I didn’t really get over it until I sort of put my hand into the fire and said, ‘OK, this is something I’ve got to live with. Let’s deal with it.’”

Shortly after he returned to Instagram, Sprouse was spotted in Los Angeles with his twin brother, Dylan Sprouse.

The two were thrust into the spotlight at a young age, due to their roles in “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and its sequel.

After the Disney show’s finale episode, Dylan and Cole moved to New York City to go to college. They were pretty much out of the spotlight until a couple of years ago when Cole landed the role of Jughead in the CW show “Riverdale.”

Dylan has been in a public relationship with Victoria’s Secret Angel, Barbara Palvin for about two years.
