Tory Lanez has arguably been the most hated rapper over the past two weeks. He’s been assumed to be the one who shot Megan Thee Stallion twice in her feet after the two attended a Hollywood Hills house party in which they also partied with Kylie Jenner. Shots were fired from an SUV with Tory, Megan and another woman inside and it ended up being tracked down. Tory’s gun was found as he was charged with a felony for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.
Megan expressed her anger last week on Twitter about people making jokes about the shooting, which included memes. She also subliminally took shots at Draya Michele, who said that situation was a “Bobby and Whitney” one with Tory. Michele quickly backtracked and expressed the severity of domestic violence. Megan also went on Instagram Live this week to mention how the bullets didn’t hit any bones and how she didn’t deserve to get shot. She added again that there is nothing to laugh about.
A petition on Change.org was also started a few days ago asking for signatures in order for Tory to be deported to his home country of Canada. It has since surpassed its original goal of 17,000 signatures and it continues to grow as we speak.
“Deport Tory Lanez (Daystar Peterson) back to Canada and ban him from coming to America FOREVER. This little 5’3 man with a big ego has contributed nothing to the American Economy, and promotes violence and violence against women. Furthermore, he should be banned from the United States FOREVER for intentionally trying to harm Megan the Stallion. SEND HIM BACK TO CANADA ASAP!”
At this point, the petition stands at over 17,174. An update was also provided on the petition’s page as it encourages people to keep signing it and get Tory out of here.
“Thanks for all the support! Keep reposting and sharing. Let’s show @theestallion we got her back. The fact that ppl are trying to justify her being shot shows how much they think about the lives of black women. Justice for her and all other women going through domestic violence!”
At this point, there is no video evidence shown yet that proves that Tory was officially the shooter. He has since remained quiet on social media though and that may show some guilt. This comes after he’s been one of the most popular artists of 2020 as he gained attention for his ‘Quarantine Radio’ show in April along with his ‘The New Toronto 3’ mixtape as well. That project did very well as it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
