Their Blind Date

Prince Harry had a reputation of being the rebel of the royal family. He was known to find himself in one scandal after another.

Yet, as fans have seen in recent years Harry has matured.

His love life was often the talk of the tabloids. His ex-girlfriends included Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas.

While Harry's relationships with Chelsy and Cressida, and rumors swirled about a possible engagement, none of these ladies were "the one" for Harry.

In June 2016, Harry was set up on a date with Meghan Markle. The prince and the "Suits" actress were introduced by a mutual friend.

According to reports, it was love at first sight for Harry and he knew Meghan was the one for him.

Even though the public knew the two were dating, Harry and Meghan tried to keep their relationship private. While the long-distance was tough, the couple made it work with trips back and forth between London and Toronto.

Nearly a year after they started dating, they made their first public appearance at the 2017 Invictus Games.

Engagement And Wedding

Sixteen months after their relationship began, Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in November 2017.

Their engagement was the talk of the media who wanted to know everything about the couple's relationship and their plans for the big day.

Meghan and Harry's wedding took place on May 19, 2018 at St. George's Chapel. Prince Charles walked his daughter-in-law down the aisle, and the only member of Meghan's family in attendance was her mother Doria Ragland.

Also in attendance was a slew of celebrities including Meghan's "Suits" co-stars, Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, and Serena Williams.

Harry and Meghan's wedding was one of the most-watched royal weddings in history with over a billion people tuning in.

Following their wedding, talk began on when and if the couple would start a family.

Meghan and Harry loved children and expressed a desire to have a family.

Five months after saying "I do," the couple announced that they were expecting.

Meghan's pregnancy became the focus of the media with news about her baby shower in New York, her maternity style, and the baby's name.

On May 6, 2019, Meghan gave birth to a son named Archie.

Archie made his first public appearance days after his birth when his parents introduced him to the British media.

Royal fans couldn't get enough of baby Archie, and Meghan and Harry would occasionally post photos of their son for the public to see.

Archie even joined his parents on a royal tour to South Africa where he was introduced to Desmond Tutu.

Life After Royalty

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan stunned the world when they announced they would be stepping back from their royal duties.

Of course discussions began over what caused the couple's decision.

One of the reasons was due to the rumored with between them and Prince William and Kate Middleton. While many believed Meghan and Kate to be the source of friction, the issues actually involved Harry and William. It was believed that William had concerns over Harry's relationship with Meghan.

As it turns out the rumored feud wasn't the reason for the couple's exit from the royal family. The reason was due to the repeated harassment towards Meghan from the British media.

Since marrying Harry, Meghan received a lot of criticism from the British press. Meghan would later state in an interview that the negativity took a toll on her.

Wanting to protect his wife and son, Harry and Meghan made the decision to step away from the royal family.

These days the couple is living in Los Angeles, California as they start their new life. But they are still in contact with Harry's family and make trips home as often as they can.
