Frankel originally exited the show in a cataclysmic moment for the cast directly ahead of the show's 12th season. During the season's premiere, there was enough emphasis put on her departure that producers believed it warranted giving Frankel her own segment of the episode to do so. Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and other costars from the program all decided to react to the shocking news, which Frankel saw after the fact and did not like one bit.

"The beginning of the show was the proverbial middle finger to me," Frankel told 'Extra' at the time that the situation transpired. "The women have definitely had some unpleasant things to say about me… I wish them well."

She then took some time to diss the show, despite how it propagated her career, "The ratings overall in television have never been higher and perhaps the ratings on Real Housewives aren’t doing well because it’s sort of not maybe the content that is inspiring people to do what they need to do right now."

Given the recent fan murmurs that Frankel may (and should) make a return to the show, the Skinny Girl founder spoke to 'Fortune' about the possiblity that she would be coming back, mentioning she would be down for it.

"There have been a lot of questions about that and a lot of rumbling. I’m humbled by the threads and the comments. I honestly am stunned, I haven’t been watching. I saw the first episode and part of another one, so I don’t know what’s going on there," she said.

"There’s a lot of talk about what’s going on there, and I read comments that people say to me, 'Please come back,' and 'Please save the show.' It’s all flattering, and I wish the girls well. I’m doing other things though, and I just don’t know how that really would fit into my life as is," Frankel continued in her admission about how the reality show and her current life may not align and therefore couldn't work out, although she is open to the notion.
