Director Patty Jenkins has put Alexandria in her rearview mirror!

Jenkins was signed on to direct the "Cleopatra" biopic after an aggressive bidding war that Paramount eventually won.

"Red Notice" star Gal Gadot has been selected to play the titular Queen of the Nile. Jenkins famously directed Gadot in "Wonder Woman" and its sequel.

Although fans were looking forward to another collaboration between the pair, Jenkins has stepped out of the director's chair.

Why Did Patty Jenkins Step Down From 'Cleopatra'?

With Jenkins stepping out, director Kari Skogland is stepping into the director's chair, according to Deadline. Skogland recently directed the critically acclaimed Marvel series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”

Jenkins may not be directing "Cleopatra," but her name is still attached as producer, so she still will be involved in the project in some way.

Jenkins seems to just have too much on her plate to make room for "Cleopatra" right now. Jenkins is still set to direct "Wonder Woman 3" after directing the first two films. The sequel, "Wonder Woman 1984" was not well-received by fans or critics, with many criticizing the lack of character growth and bumbling plot.

Considering the poor reception of the sequel, fans are hoping to see a fresh take on the character in the third installment of the popular DC franchise.

In addition to creating another superhero flick, Jenkins is also heading back to a galaxy far, far away.

Fans Rejoice: 'Rogue Squadron' Is Still On!

When "Rogue Squadron" disappeared from Disney's production schedule last month, fans were worried that it was canceled.

The last "Star Wars" film to hit theaters was "The Rise of Skywalker" in 2019. Many fans were disappointed with the lackluster finish to the Skywalker Saga, which first began in 1977 with GeorgeLucas' "A New Hope."

Disney bought the studio in 2012 and Kathleen Kennedy was appointed as its head. Although Kennedy received a four-year contract extension last month, many fans were not happy with that news, given the plethora of canceled projects under her charge.

In addition to the canceled Obi-Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett movies, Lucasfilm recently admitted that the "Rangers of The New Republic" Disney+ series that was announced in 2020 is no longer happening.

Part of this cancelation seems to be as a result of the firing of "The Mandalorian" actress Gina Carano after controversial conservative social media posts. Some fans believe that Carano was a victim of cancel culture, including KISS rocker Gene Simmons.

Although those projects may not be happening, the two canceled films have been remade into live-action series that will premiere on Disney+. "Kenobi" will drop sometime in 2022 while "The Book of Boba Fett" will debut on December 29, 2021.

Still, some fans miss heading back to theaters and seeing their favorite franchise on the big screen. Although fans are relieved that "Rogue Squadron" is not dead and gone, its original 2023 release date does not seem likely.
