Frank Zappa'sson, Dweezil, filed for divorce from his wife after close to 10 years of marriage.
The legendary rocker's son filed legal documents with the L.A. County Courts, asking for a dissolution of marriage from his wife -- Megan Marsicano. Dweezil claims the couple was married in April of 2012 and split over the summer, according to the petition obtained by The Sound Beat.
The music site says Dweezil is asking to "reserve" the right for "future determination" on the issue of spousal support. In other words, it's possible the former couple doesn't have a prenuptial agreement. Normally, in a case involving celebrities -- especially from famous and wealthy families -- the divorce petition will mention a premarital agreement, or ask for the court to terminate its ability to order any support in the case.
According to The Sound Beat, Dweezil doesn't have any children with his ex-wife -- so, child support nor custody is an issue in the break-up.
Dweezil Zappa Splits From His Wife After A Decade Together
Dweezil Zappa made headlines in the past few years after a massive family fight over the Frank Zappa estate. According to reports, the famous offspring was feeding with his siblings and made some sort of remarks about them on his website. Eventually, the family agreed to settle the case, with a reported clause saying Dweezil would refrain from making disparaging remarks about his siblings (Diva and Ahmet.)
The 52-year-old musician keeps his father's legend alive while touring with a band called 'Zappa Plays Zappa.' The name itself became quite the issue while fighting with his siblings over the use of the famous name. Plus, the guitar player and singer learned to play his instrument from Eddie Van Halen and had his first single produced by the rock star at the age of 12.
Frank Zappa's Son & Wife Joined 'Celebrity Wife Swap' Back In 2014
Interestingly, the former couple went mainstream after being featured on an episode of 'Celebrity Wife Swap' back in 2014. The rocker swapped wives with baseball star David Justice. Dweezil wrote a blog post at the time, explaining why he would agree to on a reality show. "Sometimes I enjoy the ubiquitous train wreck-style reality shows that are out there. My wife likes to watch Gypsy wedding shows. Because of that, I know more about the “blinged-out” wedding dress designer Sondra Celli than I should. In any case, one of the shows that I have found amusing over the years is “Celebrity Wife Swap.” Sometimes there are some pretty silly pairings and odd behaviors to witness," Dweezil said.
He continued, "With that in mind it was quite bizarre when the producers called to see if my wife Megan and I would like to participate in the show."
It should be noted, Dweezil does have two daughters with his previous wife -- and Megan has been a stepmother to them during the marriage.
Also, Zappa dated singer Lisa Loeb, after the two of them toured together early in her career.
