Selena Gomez has recently broken her absence from social media by posting a few updates from her latest songs and by showing pictures of her 28th birthday party!
Fans have been eagerly awaited some pictures from the “Kiss & Tell” artist after news of her birthday began circulating on social media.
Gomez just started posting again after she congratulated and ended the participation of those behind the “Black Lives Matter” movement about 5 weeks ago. A week after that Gomez announced that a new song was released.
This week marks when the “Wizards Of Waverly Place” actress really started posting again. She posted pics for a PUMA clothing promotion and behind the scene filming of her latest music video.
Her decision to step back from social media or forego her usage of a cell phone for an extended period is nothing new though, in fact, the “Come And Get It” singer has struggled with lupus for years, an claims to have suffered “emotional abuse” while she was still dating Justin Bieber.
Selena shared that she never intended to have so much fame as a music artist and actress.
“My intention was never to become a tabloid,” Gomez said. “So when things kind of happened that way, it got out of control. And then I was like, ‘Wait, none of this is true.’ The way the media has sometimes tried to explain things has made it sound really bad, when in reality there’s nothing wrong with the fact that I needed to go away or that I fell in love.”
Although Selena has had a bit of rough personal life now and again, most of the early drama in her carer stemmed from her dating and break up with the “Baby” singer. (Who now is married to Hailey Baldwin Bieber) While some things were true in the news about Selena and Justin, many of the headlines coming out were simply puff pieces that really hurt her.
“I had to start opening up because people were taking away my narrative, and it was killing me.”
“Lose You To Love Me” was an extremely personal song for Selena. She shared how after that song came out, things definitely improved for her:
“I wrote it at the beginning of last year and had just gotten out of treatment,” Gomez shared. “It was a moment when I came back, and I was just like, ‘I’m ready to go into the studio with people I trust and start working on songs.’ There was an air around it where people were very happy, because it was like I was going to finally be me.”
