Yesterday, Derek Hough, 35, enjoyed a coffee-run with his girlfriend, Hayley Erbert, 25, in Los Angeles.
The two dancers looked casual in athletic gear as they walked hand in hand during their outing.
Hough and Erbert, who met on “Dancing with the Stars,” started dating in 2015. Last year, during an interview with Us Weekly, Hough was asked whether an engagement was in their future.
“Who knows. You never know. It’s the end of a decade, sorry, it’s the beginning of a new decade!” he said at the time.
His sister, Julianne Hough, has made headlines recently due to her relationship with estranged husband, Brooks Laich.
Brooks and Hough started dating in 2013, after being introduced through a mutual friend. In 2016, Hough claimed the relationship was love at first sight.
“I mean, I’ve never really been the person to think about ‘When you know you know,’ but it was just kind of like that,” she told ET. “When we first met each other we were like, ‘And we’re done.’”
In August 2015, the couple announced their engagement.
“We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiancé #love,” Hough wrote on Instagram
“I’m just feeling so happy and blessed every moment of every day. My favorite thing about being engaged is just a sense of warmth and just joy,” Hough told People shortly after the news broke.
In July 2017, the couple married in Idaho.
In 2019, Hough revealed to her husband that she wasn’t “straight,” but still chose to be with him.
That same year, Hough revealed the couple hired a sexologist so they could better connect and learn each other’s love languages.
Towards the end of 2019, rumors started swirling the couple hit a rough patch after Hough was spotted without her wedding ring.
In March 2020, the couple chose to spend their self-isolation separately. Hough stayed in Los Angeles while Laich spent time in Idaho with his dog.
However, the distance didn’t seem to bother Hough.
“Being on tour for three months and traveling and starting a business … it’s a lot. So to be able to be home, and stop and pause, and look inward, and connect back to myself has been glorious. I’ve been on my own,” she told Oprah Magazine.
“My husband is in Idaho doing lots of yard work … and so we’re kind of doing our separate things right now. But it’s really been a magical time,” she continued.
In May 2020, the couple announced their separation in a joint statement. But it looks like things might not be over.
According to multiple sources, Hough wants to get back together with Laich. And a source recently told People, the former NHL player isn’t opposed.
“If that were an option, he [Brooks] would be all in,” the source shared. “Her friends and family love him, and everyone is pulling for him. He’s a great guy, and they would love to see Julianne give things another chance.”
