Jussie Smollett recently took the stage in his own defense on Monday afternoon.

Smollett has been accused of staging a hate crime and falsely reporting it to police.

Smollett insists that it was a real attack, not a hoax.

He testified about his family life and his start on “Empire.”

He said that he had a “friendship” with key witness Abimbola Osundairo.

He added that the pair had done drugs and made out together.

Osundairo had earlier denied that the two had dated or that there was sexual tension between them.

Security guard Anthony Moore and “Empire” showrunner Brett Mahoney also testified in Smollett’s defense.

Moore alleged that he felt “pressured and threatened by prosecutors to put something out there that I didn’t see.”
