Tom Bergeron‘s 15-year journey with ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” has come to an end and a close source recently revealed his present state of mind.

Speaking to Closer Weekly, the unconfirmed close source said;

“He’s not worried. Tom is one of the most competent hosts out there. He’s professional and gets the job done, but he’s a realist and he knows that Hollywood is about luck first and talent second. His only concern is will lightning strike again?” Making reference time ABC’s shocking way of letting him go.

The 65-year-old media personality and former host received the news of his non-return on social media. The network in conjunction with BBC Studios announced that they had taken a decision to take the show in a different direction. In that regard, Bergeron was going to be replaced with a new host.

It was a shocking experience for Bergeron because, he was not expecting it. He had been with the show since season 1 and was looking forward to season 29, which is set to begin soon.

According to the insider who spoke out, Bergeron was indeed blindsided by his job termination, but he is hopeful that a new gig will come around soon.

“One thing I know is that Tom isn’t ready to retire. He loves getting up and going to work. Tom will keep on doing what he’s been doing— reading books. Catching up on shows and classic films and puttering around his home doing repairs and projects. He’s keeping busy and not worrying about the future. I’m certain he’ll land on his feet.” The source claimed.

After the announcement was made that Bergeron would be replaced by 46-year-old Tyra Banks, he took to his Twitter page to confirm it. He made a slight joke about not getting back his ‘monogrammed towels,’ taking from the fact that he and Banks have similar initials.

In another tweet, Bergeron said that the network was dis-continuing with him and he had no idea what to do with the glitter masks with him. His fans weighed in on the tweet to show him love and support and also commend him for being a great host all those years.

ABC and BBC later put out a joint statement saying that no matter what has happened, Bergeron remains a family of “DWTS.”

“As we embark on a new creative direction, he [Tom Bergeron] departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark, wit and charm that helped make this show a success.” BBC and ABC said in a statement.

Aside from Bergeron, another host, Erin Andrews, who contested on the show in 2010, will not be returning to the show. The network, in a statement sent their utmost gratitude to her for being part of the show for almost a decade.
