Nene Leakes is getting ready to speak her truth in regard to whether or not she will be returning to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast for the series’ upcoming 13th season, which is expected to begin soon with new rules in place.
After her co-star, Kandi Burruss confirmed that she and her cast mates would have to be extra careful amid production, Nene shared a video with her fans and followers on social media about her future with the Bravo reality show.
“So it’s my time to speak out and speak my truth, so I’m going to do that,” she told her online audience members, according to a July 18 report from The Cheat Sheet. “I’m going to do that with the support of a lot of people behind me that’s going to help with me speaking out. A lot of people have been asking me a lot of stuff, asking me about ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ every day on my social media.”
“There are so many false reports out there,” she continued. “I have remained quiet, I haven’t said anything about it as of yet. It’s coming, I will be speaking soon.”
While Nene didn’t reveal when she will be making an official decision in regard to returning to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast or walking away to focus on other things, it seems more than likely that her announcement will be coming around the time that production begins on season 13. After all, if she were to wait, it is possible that one of the other women of the show could share the news themselves.
Following Nene’s video, a number of her fans and followers called her out for dragging on the drama instead of making a prompt announcement about her Bravo future.
“It’s just a show, move on all of this extra sh** and announcements, it’s not that serious,” one person wrote.
“Sounds like she’s all lawyered up, does this mean that she was fired?” another fan asked.
“This woman needs to move on, I’m so tired of her,” a Twitter user shared. “Notice no difference between her and Mariah? Divas.”
A fourth social media fan suspected that Nene was “clearly fired.”
Nene was one of the original cast members of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” when the show began airing in 2008 but left after season seven. Then, after a cameo appearance on season eight, Nene returned to her full-time position for the show’s 10th season in 2017. Since then, Nene has been returning for each new season in a “housewife” role, all while regularly teasing that she could eventually move on.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 13 will likely air on Bravo sometime in 2021.
