Amber Heard made some serious allegations against ex-husband Johnny Depp on Monday when she testified for the defense team in the actor's libel lawsuit trial in London. Depp is suing News Group Newspapers (NGN), the parent company of the U.K. outlet The Sun, for running an article in 2018 in which it called Depp a "wife beater."

Heard detailed several instances of abuse during their relationship, including a trip to Australia in 2015 during which she felt like a hostage.

"The best way I can describe what happened in Australia is that it was like a three-day hostage situation," she said, according to PEOPLE. "We were due to be there for three days on our own, but it was only when I arrived that I realized I was trapped in this remote place without any means to leave and that Johnny had already been using and had a bag of drugs."

Heard went on to explain that she went through a variety of types of abuse during the trip. "Over the course of those three days, there were extreme acts of psychological, physical, emotional and other forms of violence. It is the worst thing I have ever been through," she said.

During his testimony last week, Deep claimed that during the flight to Australia for that trip, Heard put a cigarette out on his face and cut his finger by throwing a bottle at him.

Heard claims that none of that is accurate and that she doubts he would able to remember the events as they really happened due to his substance abuse.

"I would be very surprised if he remembers anything about the whole event; he was in such a state," Heard said, adding that he was "completely out of his mind and out of control."

Heard said Depp would become abusive while using, but then not be able to recall exactly what he had done once he slept it off.

She added that he "explicitly threatened to kill me many times, especially later in our relationship."

Depp blamed his behavior on what he called "the monster," which was another personality that made him do the things he did.

"He would blame all his actions on a self-created third party instead of himself, which he often called 'the monster.' He would speak about it as if it was another person or personality and not him doing all these things," she said. "All of the abuse contributed to a severe decline in my mental and physical health while I was with him."
