Yesterday, Kanye West held his first 2020 presidential rally which took place in South Carolina. His most controversial remark came when he said that Harriet Tubman didn't actually free slaves but instead, she got them to work for other white people. From that point, some people in the audience decided to leave because they knew West was going to continue to start speaking recklessly like this. Prior to the rally, West revealed who he wanted his Vice President pick to be as well.

West spoke to Kris Kaylin of Z93 Jamz in Charleston, SC and revealed that Jay Z would be his VP pick. His previous pick, Michelle Tidball, a Christian pastor from Wyoming, revealed that she'd take a different position to make this happen.

“So, I reached out to [independent presidential candidate Jade Simmons] to possibly be my vice-president, my running mate,” Now, we have Michelle Tidball, who is a Christian pastor out of Wyoming, who is my running-mate, but she would be open to taking another position [in his cabinet] if we found another running mate.” You know who should be my running mate? Shawn Carter,”

Kanye revealed that he and Jay Z are still on good terms.

West claimed that he hadn't spoken to Jay in about nine years but the two were seen shaking hands at Diddy's 50th birthday party in December of last year.

"Man, you know that I ain’t talk to my brother in about nine years or something like that,” West said regarding Jay Z. “But the fact that we haven’t talked so long, that’s how you know we’re real brothers. … cause fake ones be mad but still pull up because they’re getting a check.”

The problem now as a result of West's rally in South Carolina though is that he didn't even meet the deadline to appear on the state's ballot for the presidential election, according to TMZ. Chris Whitmore, Director of Public Information for the South Carolina State Election Commission initially revealed this latest information. West had a 12pm ET deadline to get this done today as he needed 10,000 signatures. Whitmore didn't hear any updates from West's team at all regarding this key deadline.

West ended up getting on the ballot in Oklahoma but also failed to do so in Florida, which is a key state that Donald Trump and Joe Biden are both vying for. West is trying to run for president under the "Birthday Party," which has come across as extremely ridiculous to everyone. After missing the SC ballot deadline, his chances at president are pretty much toast. This is good considering the fact that West sees this as a game. A vote for him would've been a vote for Trump.
