"Love," said Minaj in her third Instagram post revealing the pregnancy." "Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes. đź’›"

Petty was granted permission by a judge to use social media but he still hasn't been active, for everyone who wonders what he had to say about the pregnancy. Nonetheless, he's probably very ecstatic about the news that Minaj shared with him and the world.

Minaj's Barbz fan base was ecstatic to hear this new on social media as many of them were anticipating that she would have a child for a few years now. She and Petty got married in late 2019 but moved in together that summer.

Petty ended up running into some serious legal issues though as in March, he was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California when he moved there as he did in his home state of New York.

Marshals arrested Petty as this incident dates back to November of last year. He was arrested on the 15th for not registering as a sex offender and was released on $20,000 bond. In March, he was indicted for the same crime. His court dates have since been postponed numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sex offender situation dates back to 1995 as Petty was convicted of first-degree rape of a minor. He ended up doing four years in prison. He also did seven years in prison and got out in 2013 for a manslaughter case where he shot and killed a man in Queens, NY in 2002.

Following Petty's arrest, Minaj stayed quiet for a few months on social media. She came back to announce her feature on Doja Cat's "Say So" remix which became the No. 1 song in the country on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She then appeared on the "TROLLZ" single with Tekashi 6ix9ine in June which reached No. 1 status as well. As far as a new album from her, that is still unknown. Her last project was her fourth studio album, 'Queen,' in 2018.
