Friends and family of Naya Rivera are sharing their thoughts and memories of the "Glee" star after her body was recovered earlier this week in Lake Piru in Ventura County, California. Among those who posted a heart-wrenching tribute is her "Glee" co-star Heather Morris. The two became extremely close friends through their time on the show, and were actually married on screen.

Morris said the two "created the most beautiful friendship built out of love and understanding," and that Rivera taught her life lessons about "grief, about beauty and poise, about being strong, resilient and about not giving a fuck (but still somehow respectful)."

She also told the story of the last time she had the opportunity to see Rivera before she died. Morris explained that she'd left oranges outside of her house for Rivera and her four-year-old son Josey to come by and take.

Morris said her phone didn't ring when Rivera called so she missed out on actually getting to see or talk to her, but Rivera and Josey left two succulents on the doorstep as a thank you for the oranges.

"I planted those succulents and I look at them everyday and think of you," Morris wrote on Instagram alongside photos of her kids playing with Josey.

Morris later wrote, "You are and always will be the strongest and most resilient human being I know, and I vowed to carry that with me as I continue to live my life."

She went on to explain that the two never took photos together because they hated taking pictures of themselves, but that she has a bunch of shots of the kids playing together.'

"I have countless pictures of our babies playing, because we shared that kind of pride and joy. So I’m showing the world a photo of our little goof balls for you, because I know that meant more than anything and they remind me of you and I," Morris wrote.

Rivera went missing last week after she rented a pontoon boat with Josey on Wednesday afternoon. When she didn't return the boat within three hours of renting it, someone from the marina went looking for her.

They eventually found the boat with only Josey on board. He told authorities the two went swimming and she pushed him back aboard but never made it out of the water herself.

After an autopsy, Rivera's death was ruled a drowning accident. There was no alcohol or drugs in her system, and she had no physical injuries.
