Angela Simmons packed one heck of a backdrop into her Wednesday yoga session. The “Growing Up Hip-Hop” star and new Simmons Beauty founder updated her Instagram today right from NYC and with the Big Apple’s iconic Brooklyn Bridge in the background. Angela, 32, might come with a famous yoga swing in her bedroom, but the VH1 face today proved that yoga goes wherever she does.
Scroll for the photo that came sun-drenched, zen, and showing why this star has Built Not Bought as her hashtag.
Angela’s snap, seen below, showed her looking relaxed and focused as she struck a yoga pose with raised arms and standing on fake grass. A terrace and railings behind the star overlooked river waters and the Brooklyn Bridge in full sunlight.
Angela may make headlines for that bikini body, but her outfit today kept it sporty as she wore a fun shorts and tee set in powder blue and white. A caption read: “V I B E S @fashionnova FashionNovaPartner.” More below.
Angela has been proving she’s a mean fighting machine throughout 2020. #BuiltNotBought backs the star’s 2019-founded Purpose App, with much of the pandemic seeing Angela kicking butt with those home workouts, now also an outdoor kickboxing deal with her trainer.
Angela, who is a mom to 2016-born Sutton and regularly logs her motherhood on her Instagram, has also been making headlines this year for getting raw about her body-image. A stripped-down bikini snap of Angela in late April, below, came with powerful words.
The mismatched bikini photo came captioned: “She’s not perfect , her weight fluctuates, she has her days when she’s not sure … she doesn’t have a 6 pack.”
Angela, who this year saw rapper Bow Bow joke that her backside had set off his car alarm, might get jokes, but she received nothing but respect for this post, continuing: “Throughout this all she’s learned to love herself unconditionally… because if she didn’t who would ? She is me . And I am her.” Skip the jump for the Fashion Nova paycheck.
Angela’s post today saw her honor her ambassador status with affordable clothing giant Fashion Nova. No #ad was used, but the star has employed it before, with the partner status largely being accepted to involve some kind of compensation. Experts at Vox broke it down:
“Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000. Some can even get $250,000 for a post!”
Angela has 6.6 million Instagram followers. More below.
