Yesterday, a huge protest was set up by Tamika Mallory in Louisville in front of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron‘s home. This was to let him know that he needs to fire and charge all of the officers involved in killing unarmed Breonna Taylor in her home on March 13. Brett Hankison is the only one to at least be fired. Many of these protestors were peaceful as they sat on Cameron’s yard and explained that Taylor still needs justice.
Many notable celebrities came out to this protest as well. Among them were ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Porsha Williams, ‘Love and Hip-Hop New York’ star Yandy Smith, and rapper YBN Cordae. All three were arrested as law enforcement in front of Cameron’s home wanted to charge as many people as they could for trespassing. Williams and Yandy ended up being released after getting their mug shots booked but it wasn’t clear if Cordae was released right away following his arrest.
Following Williams’ release, she got to meet someone very special. This is Breonna Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer. She took to Instagram to post the photo as they had their fists raised in teh air.
“It was my pleasure! I love you and as always praying for you Ms.Tamika Palmer (Mother of #BreonnaTaylor ) Ps: Thank you for waiting on us to get out! It was heart warming exiting and seeing your family?? @untilfreedom it was an honor @tamikadmallory
@danieljaycameron ? Arrest the Cops! Do The RIGHT thing✊?”
On the night of March 13, three members of the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department entered Taylor’s home on a “no-knock warrant.” This is after they were looking for a drug house in the area. By the time they got to Taylor’s home, the suspects they had been looking for were already in custody. Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, fired some gun shots due to fear of intruders. This resulted in 20 shots being fired by police in response with eight hitting Taylor.
The other two officers involved were Myles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly. Hankison has been showing that he could care less by what happening on the night of March 13 as a new Instagram post has been surfacing of him with his family on the beach. They all seemed to be “carefree” just as the woman who posted the photo said in the caption. All three officers must be charged and put in jail ASAP. Racist members of law enforcement need to start being held accountable.
