Did Katharine McPhee Go From ‘American Idol’ To Another Fox Singing Competition?

Fans of the “Let Your Heart Sing” artist believe that McPhee is on “The Masked Singer” with husband David Foster as the Banana Split duo.
McPhee received national fame in 2006 when she competed on the fifth season of “American Idol” and came in second place. Her self-titled debut alum was released the following year and peaked at the number two spot on the Billboard 200.
Since then, the California-born singer, now 37, has starred in a series of films and TV shows. She appeared in “The House Bunny” with Anna Faris in 2008 and appeared in the TV drama “Scorpion” from 2014 to 2018.
After being married to actor Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016, the pair split, and McPhee married Canadian record producer David Foster in 2019. Foster, 72, was the head of Verve Records from 2012 to 2016 and holds sixteen Grammy Awards after being nominated a staggering 47 times.
Are Katherine McPhee And David Foster The Banana Split Duo?
Many fans think that McPhee and Foster have partnered up to perform on season 6 of “The Masked Singer” together. The female in the duo, dressed up like ice cream, has been performing hits like Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” while the male of the pair, dressed like a banana, has played the piano throughout their performances.
They have also covered “A Million Dreams” from the soundtrack of Hugh Jackman’s “The Greatest Showman.” They also covered the iconic “Cry Me A River” and “Let ‘er Rip” by The Chicks.
Several clues from the video clue packages spread throughout the season certainly point to the husband and wife duo. The couple has one son together that was born on February 22. One of the clues showed three red dice, each featuring the number “2.”
A silver medal shown in one of the clue packages could refer to McPhee coming in second place on “American Idol.”
Producers have also teased that this batch of contestants has won 27 Grammy awards and 85 nominations between them. Foster’s sixteen wins and forty-seven nominations would count for more than half of those numbers.
Fans Were Right About The Skunk!
“The Masked Singer” is doing things a little bit differently this season. They have split the contestants into two groups: Group A and Group B.
Last week, during the Group A semi-finals, Bull and Skunk battled it out, with Bull moving on to the finale held on Wednesday, December 15. Skunk was unmasked to be R&B singer Faith Evans, which judge Robin Thicke selected as his first impression guess! Fans also weren't too surprised by the reveal, as many had been calling it for weeks.
On Wednesday, December 8, fans will witness the showdown between Banana Split and the Queen of Hearts. Whoever can capture the hearts of the audience will face off against the Bull in the final sing-off of the competition.
If the Banana Split duo does move on to the finales, it’s possible that McPhee might have a chance to move from runner-up to winner in another Fox singing competition…
…if the Banana Split really is Katharine McPhee and David Foster, of course.
