Ryan Dorsey, the ex-husband of Naya Rivera, was spotted in public for the first time since she went missing on Wednesday afternoon. The two share four-year-old son Josey together, and The Daily Mail published photos of Dorsey and Josey together after visiting Rivera's sister Nickayla.

In the pics, Dorsey is seen holding Josey, who appears to be smiling. Dorsey declined to speak with reporters during the outing, saying he was "too distraught" to answer questions.

Rivera went missing after renting a boat with Josey at Lake Piru in the Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County, California. Shortly after the went out on the lake, Rivera reportedly jumped off the boat and never resurfaced. Several hours later, the rental was found by another boater and the only person aboard was the four-year-old. There was an adult life jacket found on board; it's believed that Rivera was not wearing one.

Dorsey's roommate did speak with reporters and said that Dorsey had no idea that Rivera planned to go boating or swimming that day.

"Naya has been in LA working but I don’t know where she has been living. None of us know any more than what is being reported at this time," the roommate said. He added that Rivera was not in contact with Dorsey and he had no idea what her plans for that day where. "It's a horrible circumstance and we're hoping for the best," the roommate said.

Rivera is presumed dead after authorities spent all of Thursday searching by water and air for her. Their efforts have been hindered by poor visibility in that area.

Sheriff's Capt. Eric Buschow talked about the difficulties of this search operation:

"There's a lot of challenges in a reservoir this size, at times with visibility. I don't have details yet as to the depth of the area where the boat was found or what conditions they're encountering out there."

There's been an outpouring of thoughts and prayers for Rivera from both fans and her fellow "Glee" actors.

Rivera's former publicist Zack Teperman also posted his shocked reaction on social media. "I still can't believe what I'm hearing and hoping it isn't true," he wrote. "I'm just sad. Naya Rivera was one of the first people I had the honor of working with back in 2009 when I got into public relations and moved to Hollywood. One of the first people to allow me to give her advice and guide her through those crazy Glee days."
