Supermodel Bella Hadid had heads turning on Thursday, this time due to her bold choice in bottoms.
Plastered across 23-year-old Hadid’s loose-fitting pair of pants was Debbie Ellison’s famous Playboy magazine cover from 1970.
Appearing from waist to ankle, the orange “PLAYBOY” lettering accented Bella’s same-color purse (and her bodyguard’s sneakers).
Hadid also wore an all-black facemask and corded headphones while reportedly “shopping at the Aimé Leon Dore store.”
Bella’s style choice drew attention, not all of which was positive…see the pics + backlash below.
Photos of Bella Hadid’s late-week look were obtained by The Daily Mail – their readership responded with some unanimously unsavory comments.
Some slated the Vogue covergirl as a flat-out “mess” who “wears the stupidest clothes.” Others sympathized with the star, writing that “she always looks so sad,” and is “always clutching her security blanket phone.”
“Not my cup of tea at all,” another added, also saying they “don’t see the appeal in her at all.”
Considering she just returned from a quick trip to Italy alongside model/friend Hailey Bieber, Bella is likely unbothered by the naysayers.
Bella and big sister Gigi Hadid are said to have splurged on some swanky penthouses recently…yes, penthouses with an ‘s’ (as in multiple penthouses), and they might be making it a habit.
Per a June 28th Variety report, Bella and Gigi “have quietly dropped nearly $16 million on three separate New York condos over the past few years.”
“The most recent Hadid-linked deal closed last November, when Bella paid $6.1 million for a penthouse at a swanky building in Manhattan’s trendy Soho neighborhood.”
“In an odd coincidence, or maybe it’s not, Bella’s new penthouse happens to be located in the very same building where One Direction’s Zayn Malik — Gigi’s longtime on-off boyfriend, and the father of her unborn child — owned a larger penthouse he purchased in 2017 for $10.7 million.”
Amidst the coronavirus lockdown, Bella joined Gigi and babydaddy/boyfriend Zayn at the Hadid family farm in Pennsylvania.
The farm is owned by the family matriarch/”Real Housewives” star Yolanda Hadid.
Of the oasis, 25-year-old Gigi said: “It’s where we can all come and feel like ourselves again.”
Quarantine wasn’t easy for extroverted Bella, who admitted to Vogue that she’s “not great at being alone.”
“I’m such a workaholic, so being isolated has been hard for me. Recently, I made a conscious effort to wake up in the morning and say my mantras to get myself into a happier state of mind.”
And back to work she is – following her Thursday shopping trip (and over on Instagram), Bella said she was “feeling super beyond grateful” to take part in Helmut Lang’s Pre-Fall 2020 collection…see the spread here.
