After Thanksgiving celebrations and all the turkey dinners, it will finally be time for Christmas, which is arguably the most popular holiday celebrated worldwide. Christmas time is meant to be spent relaxing with your family, watching sweet Christmas specials, and exchanging gifts.

For the kids, one of their favorite parts of Christmas is when they get to watch Christmas specials with sweet treats.

So many kid-friendly Christmas specials are coming this year that are guaranteed to be a good watch for you and your family. Many new ones will be released, while some old favorites will be returned.

From as early as November 24, you can stream these delightful movie specials and enjoy lovely moments with your kids. Here are four kids' Christmas specials to look out for and stream this December.

'A Boy Called Christmas'

In this sweet Christmas film narrated by Maggie Smith and based on the original Santa story, a young boy named Nikolas Goes on a journey to find his father.

On his way to the elf village where he will supposedly find his father, he meets and teams up with a mouse and a reindeer. "A Boy Called Christmas" is based on a book of the same name written by Matt Haig and released in 2015.

The film cast includes Smith, Henry Lawfull as Nikolas, Jim Broadbent as Father Vodol, Zoe Colletti as The Truth Pixie, Michiel Huisman as Joel, and Sally Hawkins as Mother Vodol. It was released on November 26, 2021, by Studio Canal in the UK, France, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and China, while other countries could watch the film on Netflix by November 24, 2021.

'A Charlie Brown Christmas'

This is one of the most loved Christmas special oldies. It is a classic that fans can watch for hundreds of Christmases and never get tired of it. The movie's premise is that a gloomy Charlie Brown gets a little cheer when Lucy gives him the task of getting a tree for the Christmas program.

On December 9, 1989, it debuted on CBS and quickly received high praise and ratings from audiences and critics. It went on to win a Peabody Award and Emmy Award.

The Thanksgiving version "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and the Christmas version "A Charlie Brown Christmas" are currently available to watch on Apple TV+. Those who don't have Apple TV+ can watch it when it airs at 7:30 pm EST on PBS.

It was the first TV special based on the popular comic strip Peanuts, created by Charles M.Schulz, directed by Bill Melendez, and produced by Lee Mendelson.

'Robin Robin'

In this sweet Christmas movie, a bird named Robin was raised by some mice after she fell as an egg and rolled into a trash heap. Knowing that she is different from the mice that raised her, she left home intending to prove herself.

She met another bird, and together, they planned and attempted a heist on a human home, which was made complicated by a villainous cat. Robin went through a lot of self-discovery during her journey and found out more about who she wanted to be.

This musical adventure was directed by Dan Ojari and Niuchael Please and featured an amazing voice cast, including Bronte Carmichael, Gillian Anderson, Adeel Akhtar, and Richard E. Grant. Netflix released this short film worldwide on November 24, 2021.

'8-Bit Christmas'

Another new Christmas classic is "8-bit Christmas," which tells the story of a 10-year-old boy living in Chicago who will do anything to get a new Nintendo as his Christmas present.

The story was narrated by the adult version of the boy (played by Neil Patrick Harris) to his daughter. Michael Dowse directed this Christmas comedy with a screenplay written by Kevin Jakubowski. It was based on the novel of the same name, also written by Jakubowski.

The film's talented cast included Patrick Harris, David Cross, Winslow Fegley, June Diane Raphael, and Steve Zahn. The production companies were New Line Cinema and Star Thrower Entertainment. It was officially released on November 24, 2021, and can be streamed on HBO Max.
