Amandla Stenberg, most well known for her time portraying the “Hunger Games” child character Rue at the age of 13, just told the press that she shaved off her eyebrows after watching a popular trend on TikTok with people removing their brows.

Oddly enough though, “The Hate U Give” actress didn’t shave off all of her eyebrows and instead decided to just take off a portion of them to resemble stars like Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid.

She did however take time to detail her latest beauty exploits while talking with Vogue.

'I'm Loving It'

Despite the fact that she admits the idea is pretty silly, she is thrilled with how her eyebrows have turned out:

““I just did that thing that everyone’s doing now where I shaved off the ends of my eyebrows because of a godd**n TikTok. So I have a different eyebrow shape than usual, but honestly I’m loving it. Absolutely loving it.”

She went on to detail how much she loves using “Sunnies Face Lifebrow Grooming Gel” because of how it fits her eyebrow needs.

Many times the actress faces the impossible task of making her eyebrows pop by brushing them slightly, but this is the only product she swears by to accomplish that feat.

The now 21-year-old actress has become something of a social media sensation. With millions of followers online and an outspoken personality, she even made Time's list of Most Influential Teens in both 2015 and 2016.

Although not always in agreement, the comment section regularly fills with people appreciating Amandla’s political posts, especially when it comes to the recent Black Lives Matter “activism”.

During her time portraying the character Julie on “The Eddy” on Netflix, Amandla said that her experience was very relatable for her in real life:

“I felt like I understood parts of her angst and being a teenager and what that weird experience is like, trying to define who you are especially in the midst of really unstable circumstances.”

Amandla went on to describe how Julie’s character develops in a way that reminds her of herself. She also spoke about how the movie connected her with “the roots of Jazz”.

'Stupid Situations

Being open, less artificial, and open to accept who she really is, that basically describes Julie’s character in “The Eddy” and it reflects how Amandla says she’s grown as a person:

“She has to go on this journey where she puts herself in some pretty stupid situations in order to be forced to finally reflect and confront who she is instead of projecting out this bravado all the time.”

Fans of the show appreciated her transparency talking about the on-screen struggles of her character relate to her own in real life.
