Lala Kent‘s fiancé, movie producer and director Randall Emmett, appeared on the
“Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef” podcast on Wednesday, June 24, and during the episode, he discussed his relationship with Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd.
Months after being seen on “Vanderpump Rules” for the very first time, Randall opened up about the dynamic between himself and Lisa and revealed that he often spends time with her and her husband in Los Angeles, where they own a slew of restaurants and bars.
“I’m very close with Lisa and Ken. Probably once a week, I FaceTime her,” Randall revealed.
According to Randall, he spent a lot of time with Lisa and Ken before restaurants and bars were shut down in Los Angeles due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“When it wasn’t COVID, you know, I would see Ken and go meet them for a drink or go meet Lisa and Ken with Lala for drink,” he shared.
Prior to Randall joining the cast of “Vanderpump Rules” for season eight last year, he and Lisa became friends.
“Lisa and I have been friends now way before I got on the show because she was always like, she wanted to know me. We had dinner a few times with Lala and Ken. So I knew Lisa already and there’s a mutual respect,” Randall explained.
In the years leading up to his highly-anticipated “Vanderpump Rules” debut, Randall spent time at SUR Restaurant, which is owned by Lisa and Ken, because his now-fiancee, Lala, used to work there as a hostess.
“I mean, I love them. And I guess one hundred percent, I’m much closer in age and I genuinely get along with both of them,” Randall noted of his relationships with Lisa and Ken.
“Lisa and I are buddies and I feel really comfortable with them,” he continued.
Randall went on to say that he definitely feels very comfortable and has a lot of respect for Lisa and Ken.
“And I trust them and they’ve been very helpful navigating unchartered waters for me,” he admitted, noting his first season of filming on “Vanderpump Rules.”
While Randall was hesitant to join “Vanderpump Rules,” Lisa offered him advice along the way.
“I respect her and I think she respects me and what I do. So I think she always was there kind of advising [me] a little bit, just giving me advice. Even before I started doing the show, we had multiple conversations where she’s like, listen, it’s going to be fine,” he recalled.
The “Vanderpump Rules” cast is expected to begin filming the upcoming ninth season of the show sometime this summer.
