Luann de Lesseps recently appeared on an episode of the “Reality of Reality” podcast, via a report from Reality Tea, and during the show the “Real Housewives of New York City” star applauded her longtime cast mate and friend, Ramona Singer, for showcasing personal growth while also discussing the Bravo reality series’ newest cast member, Leah McSweeney, who was brought to the show last summer for filming on season 12 following the unexpected exit of former cast member Bethenny Frankel.
“Has Ramona changed? A lot of people are saying she’s the voice of reason this season. What do you think?” the podcast host asked Luann on the show.
“I think that Ramona has changed for the better. I really believe that,” Luann replied.
That said, when it come to Ramona’s “crazy” persona, Luann said fans shouldn’t expect to ever see her change completely.
“Listen, you’re never going to change Ramona completely and God knows we don’t want to because where can you find that kind of crazy Ramona, right?” she asked.
“But, I feel like Ramona has come a long way in terms of being more compassionate, I think,” Luann continued. “You know, she still fumbles on her words, but you gotta love it. I feel like she’s more compassionate and you especially see that with Leah [McSweeney] this season. She kind of mothers her.”
While Ramona took aim at Leah’s tattoos earlier this season and battled with her while she was drunk in Rhode Island, they did enjoy a slight friendship on the show.
Later on in the show, after the podcast host commented, “Leah seems to be playing out a lot of her mommy issues,” Luann agreed.
“Yes, it’s true and she has those issues,” Luann explained of her younger cast mate.
Luann then said that while Leah has “mommy issues,” she hasn’t taken them out on her. Instead, she’s gone for Ramona.
“I’m glad she goes to Ramona as the mother and not me. I want to be the girlfriend, not the mother,” Luann joked
As fans of “The Real Housewives of New York City” may have noticed, there is no new episode of the show airing tonight after last week’s episode confirmed the early exit of Luann’s longtime co-star, Tinsley Mortimer, who quit filming midway through production after getting engaged.
While “The Real Housewives of New York City” season 12 is currently in hiatus, due to alleged production delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it is expected to return to Bravo with new episodes on Thursday, July 2, at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
