Britney Spears clocked herself over a quarter of a million likes in under an hour today, taking to Instagram with an update on something she’d made headlines for back in May. The 38-year-old pop princess fronted media outlets last month for a raw and brave reveal stating she once felt like an “ugly duckling” – the Instagram post seeing the “Toxic” singer confess that having bangs left her feeling “protected” came to fruition today. Britney’s photos delivered bangs, plus the stunning body that defined a generation.
Scroll for the photos showing the blonde beauty showing off both her swept bangs and her killer figure. Britney – whose 2016 “Glory” album was recently driven to #1 chart spot – had been photographed outdoors amid sunbeds and pillars, seen shooting the camera a piercing and deep gaze as she stood in a cute pink and animal-print-piped bikini. The star also wore a black choker as she posed with her bikini bottoms tugged down a little, also flashing the starburst and kanji-symbol tattoos below her stomach.
A caption from Britney read: “I did it I finally cut bangs ??♀️??????? !!!!!!” The star, who was called “iconic” and having “invented” bangs by her adoring fans also quickly snagged herself a comment from hunky boyfriend Sam Asghari – the Iranian-born personal trainer replied: “How many comment are going to say “queen of bangs” ??❤️.” Britney and Sam have been dating since 2016, with joint horseback riding photos of the couple earlier this year seeing fans dub Britney the “most authentic” she’s ever looked. May 18 marked Britney getting honest about her image. “I remember like it was yesterday …. it was such a big deal to expose my forehead …. only pretty people in the south could do that and I never felt pretty enough to pull it off,” she wrote, adding: “All the beauty pageant girls did it but I never felt beauty pageants were my thing … I had bad teeth and felt like an ugly duckling.” Britney then admitted to feeling “protected” by her bangs.
Spears continued: “People choose different ways to protect themselves …. when I pull my bangs in front of my head I feel like I’m protected … almost like I’m in 3rd grade again ⭐️?? !!!” The singer, who remains under her 2008-commenced conservatorship, has faced mental health concerns from fans throughout 2020, having even clapped back over comments she felt were “mean.” The openly bipolar star’s financial controls are set to continue until at least August on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.
