The past Hollywood is nothing compared to the future as George Clooney predicts the industry is “moving in the right direction.”
The icon is one of Hollywood’s greatest actors of all time, with several accolades in his name and a legion of adoring fans at his back.
On or off the TV, the entertainer has impacted the world with his talents and activism. Now, the 60-year-old is sharing his views on the changes happening in Hollywood.
The “Gravity” Star Got Real About The Shifts In Hollywood Culture
The Hollywood veteran got candid in a recent interview with The Sunday Times about the changes Hollywood culture has experienced over time.
The most notable difference was the high intolerance of bad behavior from people in power. The Oscar winner said:
“Just because you’re a boss, it doesn’t mean you get to s**t on people. I’ve been the boss and the guy being s**t on. You can’t get away with being a d**k anymore — you’d get ratted out.”
The “Ocean’s Eleven” star’s words reflected the reformation in Hollywood’s system that began with the downfall of Harvey Weinstein, a convicted sex offender.
The disgraced filmmaker opened the door for a massive change throughout the industry regarding accountability for immoral conduct and an unsavory work environment.
In addition to the rising Me Too Movement, Hollywood’s showrunners and star members could no longer abuse their power without consequences. In Clooney’s words:
“I can’t imagine some producer having a casting session alone in his hotel room with a young girl anymore. It’s moving in the right direction.”
On that note, Hollywood may be changing for the better, but the “Batman & Robin” star cannot confidently claim it has become a safe space for its members.
The Hollywood heartthrob stated that wrongdoings could be happening underneath the surface of the industry. However, he believed a brave soul would blow the whistle on these evildoers.
George Clooney: From Hollywood’s Most Wanted Man To Adoring Husband
A few years ago, George was one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, but everything changed when the gray-haired prince met the woman of his dreams.
The “Ocean’s Twelve” star gushed about his wife in an interview with PEOPLE, where he told the news outlet about the changes Amal made in his life.
The humanitarian stated that his wife not only impacted his longtime aversion to marriage, but she also made him want children.
Although the BAFTA winner had previously expressed his disinterest in fatherhood, he is currently loving every moment with his twin children — daughter Ella and son Alexander.
“The Descendants” star planned on spoiling his adorable kids with affection while instilling in them the important lessons the actor gained from his childhood.
The 60-year-old explained that he learned to survive in various situations through the trials of the past and this skill was a valuable lesson he wished to impact the twins.
