The 6-year-old daughter of George Floyd just became the newest shareholder at Disney after receiving a generous gift from legendary singer Barbra Streisand. Gianna Floyd proudly showed off the certificate and packet she was sent from Disney and thanked Streisand for the amazing gift.
“Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,” Gianna wrote alongside multiple photos showing off her official Disney documentation.
It’s unclear how much the stock the “Funny Girl” star sent over to Gianna, and shares are currently selling at $115.49 per share.
Disney may not be fully open for business at the moment, but with plans in place to open in future weeks, it’s only a matter of time before Mickey and Friends are raking in the cash again. The investment will be a solid one for Gianna, and is not the only gift the young girl has been given amid her father’s brutal death and subsequent protests for the Black Lives Matter movement.
On the day George Floyd was laid to rest, Texas Southern University announced they would be providing a full scholarship to Gianna, if she chose to attend the institution in the future.
“The Board, in conjunction with the TSU Foundation Board, has approved a fund to provide a full scholarship for Floyd’s beloved daughter, Gianna. TSU’s executive and academic staff will prepare a place for Miss Floyd if she wishes to attend the University,” a statement on the university’s website read.
The statement added:
“We know that this gesture cannot take the place of her dad’s loving presence, but we hope that it will contribute to easing her journey through life.”
There is also an official GoFundMe for the Estate of George Floyd that has raised over $14 million since first going live on May 27, two days after he was killed by former officer Derek Chauvin in Minneapolis, MN.
