'Star Trek' star Marina Sirtis has issued an apology to writer Lin-Manuel Miranda after slamming his position about racial equality protests online.

The 65-year-old actress candidly accused Miranda on Thursday of offering "pointless" advice to protestors amidst the heightened tensions stemming from activist actions being taken nationwide. Her comments, however, were not received well at all, with many slamming her for slamming Miranda, causing the actress to issue her own apology for insinuating anything with the 'Hamilton' creator to begin with.

"Gmorning. Keep going. Listen to the aches. Learn from your mistakes. Get right with your guts. Keep going," Sirtis wrote in a now-deleted tweet, before making reference to Miranda's comments.

"Could you, for once in your life, say something that actually matters at this time of crisis? Your platitudes are pointless," she continued her dig into the writer, which she also deleted amid a flurry of negative responses from fans saying her criticisms were in bad taste given the current climate.

"I know you're hurting and scared looking at what is happening. But LMM is very earnest in this. It's not empty platitudes. He's come out and stared the position of Hamilton production on BLM. He's protested and fought for Puerto Rico and for diversity. Attacking him helps what?" One user responded to the now-deleted stream of messages from Sirtis, calling her out for attacking a man who has adamantly proven his alliance with minority causes across the spectrum in the past.

Many others responded to Sirtis and reminded her of the humanitarian efforts that Miranda has undertaken prior to the current situation, but also right now. After learning some more information about Miranda's past, the actress issued an apology to Twitter, saying she misspoke about some elements of her criticisms of the award-winning writer.

"Rereading some of my tweets today. Maybe I got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning. Apologies to anyone I've offended," she shared to her page.

Earlier this week, Miranda issued his statement regarding the current tensions in America and his lack of responding immediately, writing, "As the writer of the show, I take responsibility and apologize for my part in this moral failure. I'm sorry for not pushing harder and faster for us to speak these self-evident truths under the Hamilton banner which has come to mean so much to so many of you."

"It's up to us to do the work to be better allies and have each other's backs," he implored readers to remember.
