Sunday afternoon was definitely met with shocking news, to the music and fashion industry. It was revealed that fashion designer, Virgil Abloh, passed away, after battling cancer, for several years now.
Celebrity tributes immediately began to pour in, as they reflected on Abloh’s accomplishments, as well as the type of man that he was.

One of the notable celebrities who took to social media, to honor Abloh, is Kris Jenner. Jenner labeled Abloh as a friend of hers, and someone who’s an angel.

Abloh Was Recognized As An Iconic Fashion Designer
Abloh’s notoriety in the fashion industry was on full display, as over the last three years, he served as the artistic director, for Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection. He was also the CEO of the fashion label, Off-White.LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, also took to social media, to honor Abloh’s memory.
“LVMH, Louis Vuitton and Off White are devastated to announce the passing of Virgil Abloh, on Sunday, November 28th, of cancer, which he had been battling privately for several years. We are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom. Abloh’s Family Released Statement, Following News Of His Passing
Abloh’s family were who initially took to his social media feeds, to deliver the unfortunate news of his passing, to the world. Abloh was initially diagnosed with an aggressive and rare form of cancer, back in 2019. Abloh chose to continue to working and pursuing his passions, all while undergoing treatments.
“We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues.
For over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.
“Through it all, his work ethic, infinite curiosity, and optimism never wavered. Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design. He often said, “Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself,” believing deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations.
