Cate Blanchett just had a wonderful podcast with former Australian prime minister Julia Gillard, each of them addressed each other amicably and began as many of Cate’s podcasts before. But an unexpected statement made by the 51-year-old movie star had fans shook.

Even the political figure herself became concerned for Cate after hearing her say “I had a bit of a chainsaw accident yesterday”.

Although Blanchett tried to play it off as no big deal, listeners to the podcast were greatly concerned.

The “Elizabeth” actress has reportedly been staying at home quarantining in Crowborough, East Sussex (England). Although fans are dying to know why the Academy Award Winning actress could possibly be wielding such a dangerous power tool, she has not volunteered an explanation.

Thankfully, Cate described the injury as simply a “little nick” on the head… Wait, what?!

Needless to say, this was of no comfort to listeners who can imagine what a “little nick” would look like coming from a chainsaw.

A 'Famous Head'

Her guest Gillard cautioned the “How to Train Your Dragon” voice actress telling her to take care using a tool like that:

“Be very careful with that chainsaw. You’ve got a very famous head,” Gillard responded. “I don’t think they will want to see any nicks taken out of it.”

Cate responded by saying that she has no intention of removing her noggin’ and intends to keep it “on her shoulders”.

After getting over the fact that one of Australia’s most successful actresses could have literally died from a power tool, Cate began discussing her current living situation amid this global pandemic.

After transitioning into a home school mom to her 5-year-old, Cate relayed how much she continues to be impressed by educators everywhere. Staying home takes its toll, especially when you’re living with an 18-year-old who, according to the mother of 4, says wants “nothing to do” with her.

Being able to stay indoors and really focus on her kids’ education has proven a trial. She continued the podcast saying she wants to see improvements for teachers around the globe: “I hope out of this that teachers’ wages will be increased and their respect will be amplified by COVID-19.”

'Stateless'

During an interview with Deadline about her Netflix featured movie “Stateless”, the beautiful blonde shared how she has a fixation for reality over fiction. Seeing so many made-up stories have left the actress regularly hoping to relay something that has a factual basis.

“There are so many world events where I think: “Why is nobody talking about this, or why have we stopped talking about this?”

She went on to describe how “Stateless” was first conceived in her kitchen in 2013. The film focuses on refugees that have no resident state or home.
