For the past 11 days, protestors have marched nationwide to fight for justice for George Floyd, the unarmed black man in Minneapolis who was killed by Minneapolis PD last week. Officer Derek Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds. Three other officers were also charged for their involvement. Chauvin's third-degree murder charge has also been upgraded to second-degree. The three other officers, J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao, were charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting manslaughter.

Ahmaud Arbery's killers are also heading to trial after a preliminary hearing in Brunswick, GA. He was killed on February 23 after three racist white men chased him down after falsely accusing him of being a suspect in a series of neighborhood break-ins. It also turned out that the claim of break-ins in the neighborhood were lies.

Floyd and Arbery are rightfully heading in the direction of justice. We need convictions and prison sentences though. We need this same effort for Breonna Taylor as well, though.

Today would've been Taylor's 27th birthday as Cardi took to Twitter to discuss her case. Cardi explained how she hasn't gotten enough coverage and the horrible job that local law enforcement has done. She also included a photo of Taylor looking happy while sporting an outfit.

"Happy Birthday #BreonnaTaylor. She looks so pretty and fine in this pic.Her story it’s so sad and unfair and it almost didn’t get picked up by the media.Kentuky police department really tried to sweep her case under the rug,but got is BIG.The fight ain’t over till you get justice."

Taylor's family has since filed a wrongful death lawsuit as they're calling for charges of charges of battery, wrongful death, excessive force, negligence and gross negligence against these officers. The FBI has also been investigating her murder since May 21 but there still hasn't been any signs of arrests coming soon or charges. The only form of action taken was on that day, the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department announced that all of their officers would be required to wear body cameras. That isn't enough. Bring on arrests, charges, and convictions to get Breonna Taylor the justice that she deserves.
