Former "Jeopardy!" contestant MattAmodio is enjoying his newfound fame!
In a recent Newsweek article, he said that he expected his massive influx of Twitter followers to click the "unfollow" button after his 38-game win streak ended, but that hasn't been the case.
If anything, Amodio's Twitter following has only grown. He has a dedicated fanbase who created a group called the "Amodio Rodeo" and he revealed the number of marriage proposals from anonymous fans has not died down since he left the show.

Although some former contestants become overwhelmed by the fame that being a "Jeopardy!" champion can bring, Amodio enjoys being recognized.
"My own fame is starting to sink in a bit," he said. "If I go to a bar or restaurant it's guaranteed I'll be recognized at least once, so I'm gradually coming to the realization that I have a little bit of fame, and I do like it."
He added, "I've also had some neat things happen, like being inducted into the hall of fame in my local public school system and being approached by charities that want me to spend the day with them."
The Yale Ph.D. student also mentioned that he feels like a "truer, more natural" version of himself since appearing on the show.
He revealed that “when other people say that me revealing who I am is nice, lovely, or wonderful, it’s very rewarding. It’s hard to stay humble when you hear that because it’s a testament to a deeper connection to who I am; not just ‘he’s smart’ but, ‘he seems like a good person.’ That makes me feel very proud.”
Now, however, Amodio is ready to put his newfound fame to good use.

Amodio may be famous for having the second-longest consecutive game win streak in the show's decades-long history, but now he is putting that fame to good use.
Amodio is going to be hosting, MCing, and reading questions for the trivia round of the Game Theory $1,000,000 Challenge for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The host of Game Theory is Matthew Patrick, also known as MatPat. MatPat reached out to Amodio to host the trivia portion of the challenge after he learned that he and Amodio actually went to the same local high school in Medina, Ohio, where Amodio grew up.
Amodio said that it was "a surreal experience because I see there are people at the event who are really famous and have millions of followers on social media, and then there's me, Matt."
He added, "But it feels good to imagine that my name belongs on that list."
Will Matt Amodio Become The Next 'Jeopardy' Host?

It's possible that his new hosting experience might make him a prime contender to take over the role of "Jeopardy!" host in the future.
Sony executives announced that "Jeopardy!" G.O.A.T. Ken Jennings and "Blossom" star Mayim Bialik will be splitting hosting duties for the rest of 2021.
Jennings has been hosting regular gameplay for the past few weeks but will cede the hosting podium back to Bialik for the show's first-ever Professor's Tournament from December 6 through December 17.
Even though no host has been announced for 2022 or the upcoming Tournament of Champions, Amodio has his fingers crossed that it will be hosted by Ken Jennings.
He recently revealed that his biggest regret was being unable to meet Jennings in person, as his winning streak ended during Bialik's run.
