Are The Kardashians Suffering From The Reality Show Curse?

The reality show curse is one of the most-talked about topics in Hollywood.

In the past couple of decades, fans have seen the end of marriages and families broken up due to reality television.

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson along with Hulk and Linda Hogan are just a few examples of the reality show curse.

People believe that while reality shows bring a person fame and fortune, it can also led to problems in a relationship.

One family that many believe are now suffering at the hands of the reality show curse is the Kardashians/Jenners.

Since their show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" debuted in 2007, the family has been the focus of tabloid news.

Of course a majority of the time the news is about a family member having trouble in their love life.

Throughout the years, members of the Kardashian family has experienced some heartbreak.

While many may not think much of it, others believe they're the next victims in the reality show curse.

Kris And Bruce's Divorce

Kris Jenner's first husband was Robert Kardashian, with whom she had Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob.

Kris and Robert were married from 1978 to 1991. Following their divorce, the two remained the best of friends.

While Kris was separated from Robert, a mutual friend introduced her to Olympic gold-medalist Bruce Jenner.

One month after her divorce was finalized, Kris married Bruce.

She and Bruce quickly became a blended family with her children and his four kids.

In 1995, their family became bigger with the birth of their first daughter Kendall. Two years later, a second daughter Kylie was born.

When "KUWTK" premiered, Bruce was a main fixture on the show. He was known as a quiet and reserved person, while his wife and stepdaughters could be wild.

Often Bruce found himself becoming a mediator during family squabbles, and viewers loved how he tried to be a positive role model.

Despite their different personalities, Kris and Bruce seemed to have a solid marriage.

However, in October 2013 the announced they were separating. A year later, Kris officially filed for divorce.

In 2015, after months of rumors, Bruce Jenner confirmed he was coming out as a trans woman. Jenner had surgery and switched his name to Caitlyn.

Bruce's transformation stunned his family, but he revealed this is something he'd been struggling with since he was a child.

Kourtney And Scott's Issues

When "KUWTK" premiered, fans were introduced to Kourtney's boyfriend Scott Disick.

From the beginning it was obvious there relationship was going to be filled with problems. Kourtney suspected Scott of being unfaithful and broke up with him.

The couple would then get back together and break up many times throughout the show's run.

Kourtney and Scott would have three children together. Their son Mason was born in 2009 and daughter Penelope came along in 2012. Two years later, they'd welcome another son named Reign.

Yet, Scott's drinking and partying became an issue. Despite his struggles, Kourtney remained with him. Scott would later go to rehab and seek treatment.

While the couple often discuss the topic of marriage, they never walked down the aisle.

After nine years together, the couple split up for good in 2015.

Scott has remained close with Kourtney and the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner family.

Following recent news about his break up with Sofia Richie, Scott has been leaning on Kourtney for support. This has led to news that the exes could possibly be reuniting.

Khloe And Lamar

Khloe had a whirlwind romance with NBA player Lamar Odom.

After just a few weeks of dating they were engaged. One month after their engagement, the two marred in September 2009.

Fans loved watching them on "KUWTK." They thought Lamar was a gentleman by the way he treated Khloe like a queen.

The couple soon landed their own spinoff series "Khloe & Lamar." The show chronicled the couple as they moved to Dallas and contemplated having a baby.

Yet, rumors began circulating that there was trouble in paradise for the pair. In December 2013, the two separated.

It looked like they would reconcile following Lamar's hospitalization following an overdose. However, Khloe continued with the divorce, which was finalized in 2016.

She would have brief relationships with French Montana and NBA player James Harden.

In late 2016, she began dating NBA star Tristan Thompson. She gave birth to their daughter True in April 2018, but Khloe and Tristan's relationship ended due to his infidelity.

Kim's Love Life

All of the Kardashian sisters have had bad luck in the romance department.

Kim struggled to find her Mr. Right for many years.

When she was 19 years-old, she married music producer Damon Thomas, but the marriage ended after three years.

She would have romances with singer Ray J and NFL player Reggie Bush.

In October 2010, she began dating NBA player Kris Humphries and seven months later they were engaged.

Kim and Kris married in August 2011, and their lavish wedding was featured on "KUWTK." However, after 72 days of marriage, Kim filed for divorce. Speculation began that the marriage was a shame, something Kim has denied.

In 2012, Kim's luck in the romance department changed when she started dating Kanye West. The two married in 2014 and have four children together.

While things seem to be going well for Kim, recent rumors have circulated that she and Kanye are arguing a lot while in quarantine.

The Kardashians and Jenners have experienced a lot of heartache in the past couple of years.

While many may not think much about the reality show curse, there may be some truth to it.

Not only has it affected the women's relationships with their significant others, but also their bond as a family.

When the new season of "KUWTK" premiered, a fight broke out between Kourtney and Khloe. Kourtney would later reveal that filming for the show was taking a toll on her. She felt she need a break and no more cameras following her.

Of course her sisters Kim and Khloe were less than sympathetic towards her feelings.

Kim and Khloe's lace of support towards Kourtney seems to imply that they care more about fame.

While the show has brought the family lots of fame and success, it could also be responsible for ending their marriages, and possibly breaking up their family.
