The last season of “90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days” has been wild. For Babygirl Lisa Hamme and Usman Umar, the ride has felt especially intense. In nearly ever episode of the season, Hamme and Umar were seemingly about to end their engagement.
By the finale, Umar and Hamme were getting married. But did the love last? Seemingly not, if Hamme’s recent Instagram Live rant is accurate. In fact, Hamme has apparently revealed that she and Umar are no longer together.
Hamme and Umar met online and began a whirlwind romance.
Hamme says that she and Umar had a mutual friend that connected them when Umar reportedly claimed to be looking for a “female companion.” Hamme says she checked Umar out for herself and found that she wanted to pursue a romance.
The rest of their relationship has played out on screen. Viewers have seen the couple meet and Hamme trying to appeal to Umar’s mother so she would consent to their marriage.
Hamme was 49 years old and Umar was 29 when they first met. Hamme originally had concerns that Umar was trying to scam her, but eventually she set these fears aside. She decided to give him the “benefit of the doubt” and come to Nigeria to meet him.
Umar and Hamme’s rocky patches in the show related to jealousy and Hamme’s lack of understanding about Nigerian culture and life. She also had to fight for the approval of Umar’s mother, who did not approve of their marriage.
Hamme and Umar have had a lot of problems in recent months. In fact, Umar accused Hamme of using a racial slur against him once. She admitted to it but then claimed that their relationship was able to move past it.
More recently, Hamme and Umar claimed that they had been united and were on better terms. In a video, Umar claimed, “You see her, we have resolved everything. Everything is okay now.”
It would seem that this has changed in recent weeks.
Most recently, Hamme took to Instagram Live to say that they had ended their relationship. She said, “He used me. He married me just to be on a TV show that people would recognize his name to sell his music.”
Hamme alleges that Umar had not apologized to her and is part of a “romance scam.” She adds, “It puts the stigma back onto NIgeria again and that’s what I didn’t want to do.”
In response, Umar denied the claims and allegations that he was scamming Lisa.
