Tatler, a British magazine, was said to have disapproved the legal complaint made by Middleton and Williams. Furthermore, the magazine based their concerns and warning on 'no merit' which is probably one of the highest ways to insult and embarrass a member of the royal family.

Initially, the couple thought it best to resolve the matter amicably, hence the letter they sent to the magazine. All they requested from the network, is that it takes down everything that had to do with the duchess, including the 'Catherine the Great' piece. However, this plea fell on deaf ears and the magazine continued with its publications.
