Actress Brittany Murphy’s death has been mysterious since 2009 when she passed away at the age of 32. The “Clueless” star died in her home, and the cause was ruled as accidental. Investigators ruled that her death was likely caused by iron deficiency paired with drug intoxication and pneumonia.
Just months after Murphy passed, her husband, Simon Monjack, did too. His cause of death was ruled as pneumonia and anemia. While investigators may have ruled the cause of death as something straight forward, a new documentary is showcasing evidence that the truth may be more nefarious.
Investigation Discovery is hosting the new documentary, which is called “Brittany Murphy: An ID Mystery.” The doc originally aired Tuesday night, and it presented new information about the actress’ death. Tt speculated that foul play may have been involved in her death.
Part of the mystery revolves around Monjack and Murphy’s mother, Sharon Murphy. When Monjack died in circumstances very similar to Murphy, he was in bed next to her mother.
Murphy’s father, Angelo Bertolotti, appears in the documentary. He expresses some doubt on the official cause of death. In 2019, Bertolotti passed away. He was 92 years old.
The documentary raises some red flags about events in Murphy’s life. Many watching will wonder how this could have happened. One individual commenting in the documentary brings up the fact that Murphy died so suddenly of pneumonia without having sought any medical care. She was educated, had access to medical treatment, and had two other adults living with her.
Tests have allegedly ruled out the option of toxic fungus or drugs causing the death. In the early days of Murphy’s passing, her mother asserted that mold must have been the cause.
Bertolotti has shown some of the test results to professionals. The hair test apparently showed the presence of at least 10 heavy metals in Murphy’s body.
Professionals still allege that Murphy was likely not poisoned intentionally. Some investigators believe that Murphy likely just wasn’t taking care of herself for a while. In Monjack’s case, he had heart disease as well.
Right now, Murphy and Monjack’s deaths are considered closed cases by investigators, but this does not mean that Murphy’s fans accept this.
One thing seems certain: Bertolotti was suspicious about his daughter’s death and ordered an independent toxicology report on her hair. The metals found were allegedly those used to make rat poison.
So, who is to blame? It is unclear who may be responsible for Murphy’s death, but fans speculate it may be somebody very close to her. The fact that Monjack and Sharon were sharing a bed has been a major point of interest to those following the case from a suspicious point of view.
